Year 2 is currently the first class at The Tanto International School and provides children with their first experience of school life. However, due to a change in regulations in Sweden, The Tanto International School is pleased to be able to offer a Year 1 class starting in August 2018. This class will be open to children who are born 2012.
A new class page for Yr 1 is being developed during the Spring Term 2018. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
The children in this class learn the basics of reading, writing and mathematics with a creative and hands-on style of teaching. The children are supported in the class by an extra adult every morning to maximize their progress and learning in these most valuable years at school.
The curriculum is organized around routines that enable young children to share ideas, learning and their development. The first steps of learning center around the Tanto 3 C's (care, cooperation and courtesy) as they play an important role in understanding the wider responsibilities towards their classmates and adults at school and home.
The curriculum is stimulating and role play, iPads, craft, music, games and art play a large role in developing the start of our life long learners. These opportunities run alongside our daily Mathematics and English lessons.
Reading is extremely important at this age and children have a wonderful library in class and opportunities to take home an appropriate book each day.
