At The Tanto International School, we feel the children benefit from being members of mixed-age school teams. It helps develop opportunities for year groups to work together, encourages children to support each other, gives them a strong sense of responsibility and belonging and provides them with a range of additional activities to take part in.
We hold regular "House Days" where children take part in different activities aimed at developing bonds, communication and support amongst different age groups. Some of these include, Roald Dahl Day, World Book Day, Maths Quiz, Spelling Bee, Halloween, Talent Shows and many more.
The School children are sorted into teams by the very magical "Sorting Hat" that decides where children should be placed. The four teams are: Phoenix, Unicorns, Griffins and Dragons.
Children come together in the school hall for the Celebration Assembly held by different members of staff each week. During the week children are rewarded for care, cooperation, courtesy and outstanding work in class. The rewards come in the form of House Tokens. These are counted up at the end of the week in Celebration Assembly and the winning team each week is handed the House Point Trophy.
Alongside this trophy, there are certificates for individuals who have made significant progress, overcome a barrier or impressed their teacher during their lessons.
A trophy, called the "Tanto 3 C's Trophy", is awarded to one student per class who has shown exceptional care, cooperation or courtesy in an event, activity or during the general school day. This is a real achievement for students.
